Accor properties benefit from $300 million in renovations
Owners of properties managed by Accor across the Pacific have invested more than $300 million in their hotels since the start of 2022.

Strong business events hotels which have seen a share of the refurbishments include Manly Pacific on Sydney’s Northern Beaches, Swissôtel Sydney in the heart of the city centre, The Playford in Adelaide, located opposite the Adelaide Convention Centre and Pullman Melbourne on the Park.

“We are proud to announce this substantial investment in hotel renovations and refurbishments,” said Accor Pacific CEO Sarah Derry.

“It reflects the commitment of our partners to invest in Accor’s brands, which continue to deliver outstanding guest experiences.

“These renovations will not only enhance the overall guest experience, but also contribute to the economic growth and development of the local communities where Accor hotels, apartments and resorts are located.”

“The renovations have received overwhelmingly positive feedback from guests, who have noted the enhanced comfort and improved facilities. Accor continues to prioritise guest satisfaction and aims to provide exceptional experiences that exceed expectations.”

Manly Pacific began 2023 with its $30 million refurbishment complete, which included upgrades to its nine event spaces offering more than 1,000m2 to meet, redesign of all 213 rooms and suites and the addition of a new lobby bar and rooftop pool and sun deck.

“At every touch point, we’ve considered the extra level of detail guests now expect from a great hotel experience, with a key focus on sustainability initiatives, such as smarter energy-saving room controls to electric car charging stations,” said Manly Pacific’s general manager Dylan Cole when the refurbishment was launched.

“We’ve brought a new level of sophistication to Manly without losing the quintessential way of life of the Northern Beaches, from its laid-back lifestyle and strong connection to the sea and wellbeing.”

The Playford in Adelaide has had a $25 million renovation of all 182 rooms, meeting spaces and reception, with a new restaurant added called Luma.

A multi-million-dollar renovation at Swissôtel Sydney has seen the addition of a lobby bar and a European inspired rooftop pool.

Meanwhile the Pullman Melbourne on the Park debuted a $40 million renovation in 2022, including 19 floors of upgraded rooms, a new Executive Lounge and a renovated two-floor villa at the top of the hotel called the William Clarke Sky Villa.”

“The William Clarke Sky Villa is the jewel in the crown of our recent $40 million renovation. Perfectly positioned opposite the MCG and the Sports and Entertainment Precinct it will take the luxury hotel experience to a whole new level,” said Erkin Aytekin, general manager of the Pullman Melbourne on the Park, when the villa was unveiled as the last part of the extensive renovations in mid 2022.
