BESydney has confirmed Sydney will host the International Mining and Resources Conference + Expo (IMARC) for a sixth straight year in 2027.

The news of the event’s continuing tenure in Sydney follows the delivery of IMARC 2026 in the city late last month, which is estimated to have had 12,000 attendees representing 120 countries. This included government officials from 50 countries.

Meanwhile, the show floor at IMARC this year had more than 500 exhibitors.

The anticipated estimated economic injection from IMARC in 2026 is $26 million.

“Critical minerals have become a major priority for governments and investors worldwide and are central to NSW’s economic future,” said IMARC event director Paul Phelan.

“By hosting IMARC, Sydney brings the global decision-makers shaping the industry’s future directly to our doorstep, creating opportunities for Australian businesses to access international markets, investment and partnerships.

“Over three days, we’ve brought together government leaders, mining companies, investors and technology providers from around the world, with a shared focus on turning strategies into projects and investment into commercial outcomes.

“The value of IMARC extends well beyond the conference itself, through the business relationships, investment opportunities and partnerships that develop here.

“We’re delighted to be returning to Sydney in October 2027 and building on that momentum.”

The event will continue to be held at ICC Sydney next year, but will be held earlier in October.

“IMARC’s growth in Sydney shows what’s possible when industry, government and the business events sector work together,” said BESydney’s CEO, Amanda Lampe.

“Beyond the economic boost for NSW, IMARC puts Sydney at the centre of global conversations on critical minerals, investment and the future of the resources sector.”
