The carrier, which launched in 2020, has also flagged two other new international routes for 2027, expanding its network to Zurich, Switzerland and Barcelona in Spain.
Taiwan is amongst the top growth markets for Sydney, with passenger numbers jumping by 18 per cent in 2025.
“We’re proud to welcome STARLUX Airlines to Sydney providing passengers with more choice, competition and connectivity,” said Sydney Airport CEO, Scott Charlton.
“This new partnership reflects the continued demand for premium travel experiences and reinforces the importance of Sydney Airport as a key global aviation hub.”
The new route to Sydney will be the first Australian connection for STARLUX.
“Sydney is one of the world’s great gateway cities and we are excited to connect travellers with our award-winning service and premium travel experience,” said STARLUX Airlines CEO, Glenn Chai.
“This new route will strengthen links between Australia and Taiwan, while providing customers with seamless connections through Taipei to destinations across Asia and beyond.
“We look forward to welcoming Australian travellers on board and building a long-term presence in this important market.”
Schedules for flights to Sydney on STARLUX are yet to be finalised.
The announcement of new international flights for Sydney Airport comes off the back of its strongest ever Q1 result for international passengers, with 4.57 million passengers passing through its international terminal between January and March 2026.
