Following the acquisition of the Adelaide city centre hotel by Amora Group in mid-2025, Hilton Adelaide will officially become Amora Adelaide on July 1, 2026.
The renovation of the property under its new owners began last November and will continue in stages, with completion of all works anticipated to be in mid-2027. The hotel will remain open throughout the refurbishment.
The major renovation will take in the lobby, the 380 guest rooms and the hotel’s 2,300m2 of event space. The refurbishment is being led by architecture and design firm Cottee Parker, which also worked on the likes of The Ritz-Carlton Perth, The Ritz-Carlton Melbourne and Queen’s Wharf in Brisbane.
“We are pleased to introduce [the] Amora brand to Adelaide and are confident that our signature hospitality and commitment to quality will resonate with South Australians, who are known for these values,” said owner of Amora Hotels and Resorts, Earp Siriphatrawan.
“Adelaide offers a distinctive blend of cosmopolitan energy and authentic Australian character, balanced by a strong sense of heritage.
“Our $73 million investment reflects a commitment to honouring the iconic Victoria Square building while delivering a new five-star destination for the city.
“The design draws on South Australia’s natural palette, enhancing the building’s original character.
“This transformation will deliver refined rooms, standout dining and premium event spaces, positioning the hotel among Adelaide’s leading destinations.”
The hotel is located on Victoria Square, near the Adelaide Central Markets and just under 20 minutes’ walk from Adelaide Convention Centre.
