To be located at 39 York St, Motto by Hilton Sydney City Centre is currently being converted from an office block to a hotel by Invictus Developments.
“This project represents an exciting opportunity to transform one of our flagship properties into a vibrant, urban lifestyle hotel, and we are proud to collaborate with Hilton to deliver a truly dynamic experience for guests and locals alike,” said Invictus Developments’ principal, Chayadi Karim.
“It marks a significant milestone for our portfolio, stands as a strong testament to our proven conversion expertise, and underscores our commitment to expanding our presence in Australia.”
Upon completion, the hotel will offer 152 rooms, including 96 standard rooms, 20 suites, 14 rooms with bunks, 14 with wall beds and eight accessible rooms.
The hotel will also have a rooftop bar.
“The location of Australia’s first Motto by Hilton property has been strategically selected in the heart of Sydney’s vibrant food scene, placing guests amongst some of the city’s most iconic experiences,” says Hilton’s director of development for Australasia, Tushar Raniga.
“Motto by Hilton is redefining the city stay, bringing a fresh, dynamic approach to hospitality in some of the world’s most renowned destinations.
“The signing of the Sydney property marks the next step in this evolution, grounded in Hilton’s legacy of delivering exceptional guest experiences.”
The Motto by Hilton brand is a relatively new entrant into the global accommodation landscape, announced in late 2018 as an affordable lifestyle brand that is primarily focussed on conversions of city buildings into hotels.
There are currently 10 open Motto properties and a further 23 in the pipeline, including the Sydney property.
“Motto by Hilton recently debuted in Asia Pacific with the opening of Motto by Hilton Hong Kong SoHo, and we’re excited to bring even more of Motto’s dynamic energy to vibrant neighbourhoods across the region,” said Hilton’s senior vice president of brand management for Asia Pacific, Tal Shefer.
“With rooms that are designed to flex, and common spaces that are social by nature, Motto by Hilton Sydney City Centre is a perfect example of a cleverly compact launchpad that will connect explorers with the pulse of the city.”
The hotel is well located for events at venues including ILUMINA in Martin Place and Sydney Opera House, as well as Watersedge at Campbell’s Stores and the Overseas Passenger Terminal, both in The Rocks.
