The soon-to-open Saltwater Busselton in the regional Western Australian destination will host the Australian Regional Tourism (ART) Convention in October 2026.

Approximately 300 delegates are expected to attend the conference in Busselton which is a 2.5-hour drive south of Perth and the gateway to the state’s Margaret River wine region.

“It will provide a significant economic boost during the shoulder tourism season and will showcase our region to key tourism industry leaders,” said Busselton’s mayor, Phill Cronin of the national conference win.

“We’re incredibly grateful to our partners at Australia’s South West, the Margaret River Busselton Tourism Association, the South West Development Commission and Business Events Perth for their support in attracting this high-profile event to Busselton.

“The city looks forward to welcoming ART Convention delegates to Busselton and proudly showcasing the region’s natural beauty and award-winning tourism experiences.”

A multi-purpose venue, Saltwater Busselton has been designed and built with business events in mind.

The venue includes a 640-seat tiered theatre, which can transform into a flat floor space for 1,000 standing event attendees, alongside a conference suite with banquet capacity for 400 that can also be split into three smaller spaces and comes with an outdoor terrace capable of hosting 120 standing.

A gallery and a courtyard are also part of the Saltwater Busselton offering, with each able to host 150-plus delegates standing.

“The addition of Saltwater Busselton has further enhanced the region’s appeal for corporate and business events, drawing high-yield visitors during traditionally quieter periods,” said Cronin.

Saltwater Busselton is currently slated to open in early 2026.
