Hilton Adelaide to undergo $60 million refurbishment
The 377-room hotel is set for a major revamp after being acquired by Amora Group.

The property officially passed into Amora’s ownership earlier this week, although the hotel will continue to operate under the Hilton banner until at least June next year.

Amora has announced plans for a $60 million refurbishment, designed by architects Cottee Parker, whose recent projects include Queen’s Wharf in Brisbane and the Ritz-Carlton properties in both Perth and Melbourne.

The refurbishment will touch every part of the hotel, including its guest rooms and its 20 meeting rooms, alongside its dining and wellness spaces.

“Expanding into Adelaide gives us the opportunity to elevate the guest experience with top-tier service and upgraded facilities, in a new location,” said Amora Group’s vice president of operations, Tamar Habib.

“With these renovations, we aim to create a destination that blends exceptional comfort, dining and event spaces, making it the perfect choice for both business and leisure travellers.”

Amora branded hotels are also located in Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane, with the Amora in Brisbane completing a $30 million upgrade in early 2024.

“This acquisition is a major milestone in our strategy to expand Amora’s presence in Australia’s key gateway cities,” said Amora Group director, Earp Siriphatrawan, about the company’s new Adelaide property.

“Adelaide’s dynamic events calendar, thriving business environment and vibrant cultural scene make it an ideal location for Amora to grow and invest in.”

Renovations on the Adelaide hotel will begin this year, with the hotel to remain open throughout.
