Adelaide and Perth land business and medtech events
Adelaide will host the Australia-ASEAN Business Forum this year while Perth will host AusMedtech 2026.

The business forum will bring together more than 750 delegates at Adelaide Convention Centre on August 26 and 27 from both Australia and countries within the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN).

The event helps facilitate trade, investment, public private partnerships and, ultimately, growth across Australia and Southeast Asia.

The 2025 event will also see representatives from countries signed up to the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP), the world’s largest free trade agreement. Alongside Australia and New Zealand, other RCEP countries include Japan, China, South Korea, Singapore, Indonesia and Malaysia, amongst others.

The 2025 event is a return to the event’s beginnings, with Adelaide hosting the first Australia-ASEAN Business Forum in 2014.

“The Southeast Asia region is set be the world’s fourth-largest economy by 2040 and increased cooperation between Australia and the region is opening up new opportunities for our local exporters,” said South Australia’s minister for trade and investment, Joe Szakacs.

“The Australia-ASEAN Business Forum 2025 will bring the business leaders, industry experts and key policymakers to Adelaide to promote investment, trade and stronger ties between Australia and the Southeast Asia region.”

Looking further ahead, Perth will host AusMedtech for the first time from May 19 to 21, 2026.

The event was held in Sydney this year, attracting a record audience of nearly 500 delegates.

“AusMedtech selecting Perth as its next host city is a solid endorsement of WA’s biomedical sector becoming a bigger player on the national stage,” said Western Australia’s science, innovation and medical research minister, Stephen Dawson.

“The Cook Government is committed to supporting growth in our biomedical sector, we want to promote our world class capabilities and partner nationally and globally.

“I am looking forward to AusMedtech 2026 and sharing a uniquely WA experience for all who attend.”
