The Minor Hotels expansion is in its Oaks Hotels, Resorts and Suites brand, with two new branded properties opening in Geelong last week in addition to the recent debut of Oaks Melbourne Flemington Suites.
“As we continue to expand our footprint in Australasia, the portfolio additions of Oaks Vue Suites Geelong, Oaks R Suites Geelong and Oaks Melbourne Flemington Suites mark a key milestone in our growth strategy,” said Minor Hotels’ chief operating officer, Craig Hooley.
“These properties not only enhance our diverse portfolio but also underscore our commitment to delivering high-quality, unique experiences for travellers in prime locations.
“We are excited about the future, with a strong pipeline ahead and many more developments to come as we strengthen our presence across the region.”
Oaks R Suites Geelong offers 128 rooms, ranging from standard hotel rooms to two-bedroom, two-bathroom apartments, within a heritage-listed building less than 15 minutes’ walk from the under-construction Nyaal Banyul Geelong Convention and Event Centre.
Located just across the street from Oaks R Suites Geelong is Oaks Vue Suites Geelong, offering choice of 60 apartments from studio to two-bedroom, two-bathroom apartments.
Meanwhile, in Melbourne, just 4km from the CBD, Oaks Melbourne Flemington Suites offers one and two bedroom apartments.
Minor Hotels has at least another two significant openings slated for this year in Australia, with the Avani Mooloolaba Beach Hotel set to open in 2025 with 180 keys, while Minor Hotels will manage the Queen’s Wharf Residences Brisbane when they open later in the year.
