Wellington aims to shine at AIME 2025

Team Wellington is ready to make an impression at AIME 2025 next week, showcasing New Zealand’s capital as a destination that has it all. With a strong presence on the Tourism New Zealand stand, Business Events Wellington (BEW) will be leading the charge and promoting the capital’s exceptional offerings.

Produced in partnership with Business Events Wellington

BEW will be joined by Tākina Events who represent two of the city’s major venues, the new Tākina Wellington Convention & Exhibition Centre and New Zealand’s national museum, Te Papa Tongarewa.

Opened in June 2023, Tākina significantly boosted Wellington’s capacity to host large events. With 10,000m2 of flexible plenary and exhibition space over two floors, the centre can accommodate up to 1,600 delegates or two concurrent conferences. With a variety of spaces available at Te Papa Tongarewa, located just across the road from Tākina, clients collaborating with the Tākina Events team have a wealth of options to choose from.

Venues Wellington will also be at AIME, alongside the team from BEW. The Venues Wellington portfolio consists of five versatile civic venues accommodating everything from dinners on stage at the St James Theatre to the Michael Fowler Centre, renowned for its striking architecture, and the TSB Arena, Wellington’s largest indoor venue, perfect for large-scale events.

Aside from impressive venues, how else can Wellington tick all your conference boxes?

  1. Ease of access: With over 50 direct return flights weekly from major Australian cities, getting your delegates to Wellington is a breeze.
  2. Connect with changemakers: Wellington is the seat of the New Zealand government and a hub for industry leaders, allowing you to connect with the right people during your conference.
  3. New Zealand’s intellectual capital: Home to the majority of New Zealand’s science and research workforce, world-class universities and multiple research institutes, Wellington offers a wealth of research and science collaboration opportunities.

Be sure to connect with Leanne Douglass and Irette Ferreira at AIME 2025 and discover why Wellington is the city that ticks all the boxes.
