Singapore Airlines will add four more return services each week between Brisbane and Singapore from November 2024. The increased schedule follows the demonstration of strong demand for a seasonal boost between Singapore and Brisbane over the end of 2023.
Once the new flights are operating, Singapore Airlines will offer 25 return services each week between Queensland’s capital and Singapore, which is a major hub for flights to Europe.
“It has been heartening to see the strong demand for travel to and from Brisbane,” said Singapore Airlines’ regional vice president, Louis Arul.
“We are happy to deliver this additional frequency which provides another option for travellers to Singapore and beyond to cities in Europe and Asia.”
“We are particularly pleased to be able to announce this scheduled service one year in advance, giving our Queensland customers more departure times to choose from to best meet their travel needs.”
Brisbane Airport’s CEO Gert-Jan de Graaff highlighted the impact Singapore Airlines’ services are having on Queensland as a whole.
“Singapore Airlines is critical to Queensland’s connectivity to Europe. More recently it has come to play a key role in India’s emergence as the 4th largest contributor of overseas visitors.
“When you think about it, 25 flights per week into Brisbane is quite incredible. That’s 2,600 services in and out of [Brisbane] each year, with the potential to move 787,800 people or fill Suncorp Stadium 15 times,” said de Graaff.
The flights may also serve to increase Brisbane’s attractiveness as a business events destination, for international conferences, incentives and corporate meetings.
