Themed looks for new Pan Pacific Orchard, Singapore
The new Pan Pacific Orchard, Singapore – rebuilt from the demolished old hotel – soft-opened in June bringing a lush, resort-like ambience to the upper end of the prime district. Located just off Orchard Road, Singapore’s famous retail strip, the 23-storey hotel’s unusual exterior architecture gives a glimpse of the differences within.

The 347 rooms and suites are spread over four themed “Sky Terraces” – Forest, Beach, Garden and Cloud – with the main event spaces on the 11th and 18th floors. The pillarless, naturally-lit Claymore Ballroom on Level 18 holds 670 people in theatre layout and 430 banquet style.

Scott’s Room – also with natural daylight – seats 90 delegates theatre style but is divisible into three smaller meeting rooms. Evening cocktail receptions at the Cloud Terrace Lawn cater to 150 guests.

The two lawns on the 11th-storey Garden Terrace allow for morning exercise and evening cocktails for 80 to 270 pax. Private business meetings, luncheons and dinners for 16 pax are held in the Chairman’s Lounge on Level 3.

Marcel NA Holman, general manager of Pan Pacific Orchard, said: “We hope to surprise guests with differentiated experiences, from thriving flora at the Forest Terrace, to ‘events in the clouds’ on the Cloud Terrace. The Pan Pacific brand brings elevated, graceful luxury to our well-travelled guests who seek personalised experiences.”

Tapping into the MICE market, the hotel is targeting corporate meetings and incentives and conferences at its indoor and outdoor venues, offering high-tech LED video walls and creative catering.

The hotel’s Platinum-certified sustainability rating provides a literal “greenscape”, while features such as renewable solar panel technology and an in-room filtered water system are in line with sustainability criteria.
