The platform brings together job opportunities and careers and job seeker resources alongside both foundational training and ongoing professional development opportunities across various niches of the visitor economy and hospitality sphere, including business events.
eeger is managed by Accommodation Australia, in partnership with other bodies in tourism, hospitality, travel and business events, including the likes of the Australian Business Events Association (ABEA), the Australian Tourism Export Council, the Australian Tourism Industry Council, the Restaurant and Catering Association, Service and Creative Skills Australia and the Tourism and Transport Forum.
“eeger is more than a job platform – it’s built by industry, for industry,” said eeger’s general manager, Emilie Howe.
“It’s a unique solution that centralises career, job and training information for our workforce needs – the first of its kind on a national scale.”
Posting a job ad on eeger is free for the rest of 2025 and there are already a few business events jobs listed.
In the training section, ABEA has listed several training opportunities, while other organisations have listed training courses ranging from vocational certificates in hospitality to developing market specific knowledge to attract new international visitors.
“The launch of eeger marks a pivotal moment for the industry, offering a national perspective for tourism, travel and hospitality job seekers to find the right opportunities and for employers to access the skilled workforce they need,” said federal tourism minister, Don Farrell.
“My first job was in tourism, and I know firsthand how magnificent this industry is to be a part of. I encourage businesses and jobseekers to sign up and make the most of this innovative platform and join this vibrant and important sector.”
The visitor economy and hospitality workforce is expected to grow by nearly 150,000 people by 2033.
