New planners guide released for Adelaide
Business Events Adelaide has released its latest guide for event planners considering Adelaide for future events.
In its 16th year, the guide is now digital and can be accessed via the Business Events Adelaide website. The 2024 edition was compiled with a digital audience in mind.
This year’s edition features a video fly-through of Adelaide’s key precincts, including its innovation, biomedical and higher education districts, business events precinct and cultural areas of the city.
Fresh from hosting Tourism Australia’s international incentive showcase, Dreamtime – now known as Australia Next – the guide also includes sample incentive itineraries.
The guide includes interactive maps of Adelaide’s key knowledge precincts as well as business events venues and hotels.
“The 2024 Planners Guide is designed to be more interactive than previous iterations, with plenty of video content allowing us to show rather than tell why Adelaide is the ideal business event destination,” said Business Events Adelaide CEO Damien Kitto.
“The design allows for changes to be made as they happen, meaning that business event organisers always have the most up to date information, and members don’t need to wait a year to add more content.”
Business Events Tasmania launches podcast
Business Events Tasmania has stepped it up in promoting Tasmanian talent as a draw for business events organisers.
As location-based ambassador programs have become increasingly popular, the Tasmanian bureau launched its own in late 2022.
Now Business Events Tasmania has released the first episode of a podcast series exploring the achievements of a selection of the visionaries in its ambassador program.
Called the ‘Business Events Tasmania Visionary Spotlight’, the first episode features Sam Reid, managing director of Du Cane Brewing and director of Willie Smith’s Cider. Reid is co-founder of Willie Smith’s Cider and a well-known figure in the Australian cider industry.
The podcast can be found on Apple Podcasts and Spotify.
Regional NSW showcases leisure aligned business events brand at AIME
Destination NSW’s bureau for business events in regional NSW debuted a ‘Feel New’ brand for business events at AIME this year, taking its cue from DNSW’s ‘Feel New’ leisure campaign which launched in October 2021.
“We want to position regional NSW as the meetings and events destination for businesses who seek unique, tailor-made experiences that spark a genuine connection among their delegates,” said Destination NSW CEO Steve Cox.
“We’re thinking more along the lines of quad biking at Stockton sand dunes, or oyster shucking in the Tuross River. These are experiences of richness and substance – where real connections between people are sparked.
“Aligning the business events positioning with the ‘Feel New’ brand enables NSW to stand out from its competitors by showcasing how the distinctive character of our state’s regional destinations and communities can take business beyond the boardroom.
“NSW offers business event visitors unique and immersive experiences that leave them with long-lasting memories and positive working relationships, not just a stack of business cards,” said Cox.
New pre and post conference travel initiative launched at AIME
Mitchell Corp, which oversees a network of New Zealand accommodation options, announced a pre and post conference travel integration at AIME.
Called ‘Delegates Discover New Zealand’, the new program will make it easier for business events delegates – we assume particularly international – to experience more of New Zealand when they visit for a conference.
Currently offering packaged multi-day experiences in Franz Josef Glacier and Punakaiki, both on the west coast of New Zealand’s South Island, Mitchell Corp’s program, including booking links, can be incorporated into conference websites and promotional materials.
micenet understands the Delegates Discover New Zealand initiative was well received by buyers on the AIME show floor.
