Flight Centre acquires Luxperience
Flight Centre Travel Group (FCTG) has acquired luxury B2B travel event Luxperience from Diversified Communications.

The event has not run in its traditional face to face format with hosted buyers and appointments since 2019, but there is a 2023 events scheduled for this November at ICC Sydney.

“Luxperience will be positioned within our Group’s global Luxury Travel Collection (LTC), which includes Travel Associates and Scott Dunn,” said FCTG Leisure CEO, James Kavanagh.

“Like those businesses, the event will continue to operate on its own merits as a separate business entity and will not be brand-aligned.

“We see this acquisition as an opportunity to strengthen our luxury leisure offering to suppliers, advisors and clients.

“It is the only event of its kind in Australia and was therefore the right fit for the Group’s growing Luxury Travel Collection. As we emerged from the pandemic and luxury travel began to rebound, we felt the addition of a bespoke, luxury B2B event like this would strengthen our portfolio and provide opportunities for business growth and diversification.

“Luxperience is very well-known in Australia and New Zealand and has a strong reputation as a great quality annual hosted buyer event connecting high-end experiential travel advisors with elite suppliers,” said Kavanagh.

Luxperience was acquired by Diversified from its founder, Helen Logas, in 2017, and looks to be returning to a three-day event in 2023.
