The event, only in its second year, will be held in Alice Springs from November 11 to 14 and will conclude with the Northern Territory’s tourism awards, also known as the Brolga Awards. It will also include the Aboriginal Tourism Forum.
The four-day event, which brings together several events previously held throughout the year, also includes content for both public and business events.
“As we continue growing the visitor economy, this event gives us the chance to hear directly from operators and respond to what they’re seeing on the ground,” said the NT’s tourism and hospitality minister, Marie-Clare Boothby.
“It’s also an opportunity to recognise the businesses that are working hard every day to deliver great visitor experiences.
“I am pleased to see the event head to Alice Springs in 2026 and bring that energy to the Red Centre. Centralians know how to put on a great show.”
The first Destination NT event, held in 2025 in Darwin, had more than 1,000 attendees registered.
“This is a must-do event, and I encourage tourism operators and frankly, anyone who benefits from the visitor economy, to come along to Destination NT in Alice and experience all that Central Australia has to offer,” said chair of Tourism Central Australia, Patrick Bedford.
“Tourism sits alongside four other key industries as a priority for growing the Territory economy, and Destination NT is about equipping owners, operators and investors to seize those opportunities.”
This year’s event will be the first following the amalgamation of the Northern Territory Major Events Company and Tourism NT, including Northern Territory Business Events, into one entity called Tourism and Events Northern Territory. The amalgamation became official on January 1, 2026.
