There have been significant talent movements across the business events and hotel sectors.

GCCEC general manager to step down; new sales lead appointed

General manager of the Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre (GCCEC), Adrienne Readings, is set to step down after over two decades in the role.

Readings has been general manager of the convention centre for over 23 years, having been with the venue since before it opened in 2004.

She will leave the business in July, with an intention to take on board and consulting work.

Meanwhile the centre has taken on Anna Case as executive manager of sales.

Anna Case has joined the GCCEC team

Case has extensive experience in business events and sales, having been director and executive director of business events for Destination Gold Coast between 2012 and 2019, co-owned a destination and conference management business where she was the head of business development and tutored students in conference and event management.

Most recently she has worked with Accor in group sales and as director of sales for the Gold Coast and northern New South Wales. Prior to this, she spent three years as a business development consultant.

“I’m excited to embark on this next chapter with the fantastic team at GCCEC where I aim to leverage my diverse experience and knowledge to drive growth and success,” said Case.

“The approaching 2032 Olympic Games present new opportunities to explore a wide range of business avenues, elevating the centre and boosting the visitor economy for the city of Gold Coast.”
