doltone-houseDoltone House in Sydney is opening its doors to meeting and event planners to ENGAGE and EDUCATE while they EXPLORE what’s new in the venues.

micenet spoke to Doltone House’s head of sales and strategy, John Grealy, about what visitors can expect.

Q. Tell us about the Doltone Business Events Showcase.

A. The showcase is part of our corporate open house series that has been an industry leading event for a number of consecutive years. This time we are focusing on content and learning hence the Engage, Educate, Entertain and Exhibit theme.

The showcase is aimed at those responsible for finding an event venue or planning and delivering a business event including but not limited to, associations, sporting bodies, clubs and charitable organisations.

I would like to extend an invitation to those who find themselves tasked with arranging an event; from professional event organisers to those where this isn’t their full time role but would like to improve their knowledge, gain ideas and be inspired.

Q.Why should people attend?

A. Fresh ideas! The venues are both a unique blank canvas that can be styled, lit, equipped and filled with furniture. People are often looking for new ideas or wanting to understand the trends and the Showcase provides an opportunity to see some of these.

The sessions are approximately 90 minutes in length covering talks, sampling of food and beverages and engaging with experts. There is time after the sessions to continue to enjoy Doltone hospitality whilst engaging further with our key partners.

During the sessions we will have guest speakers on a range of topics, entertainers performing and did I mention lots of food to sample?

There are also a few surprises awaiting our guests!

Q. What will people see/learn?

A. There will be an abundance of new menus for conferences, meetings and cocktail events to sample whilst looking through the two venues styled in various themes. Our bespoke styling team, House of Doltone, will be on-hand to discuss ideas and trends in theming events.

We have a range of key partners ranging from AV through to allied event services such as photography and team-building who will be exhibiting on the day.  The Showcase provides a friendly environment to engage with experts to discuss ideas and get advice.

The entertainment will change through the day and is designed to provoke ideas.  Our entertainment specialists will be on-hand to talk through entertainment options for different events.

One of our speakers is Oliver Sheer, managing director of Be Challenged. He will be speaking about “how to turn audiences into participants”. Be Challenged is part of a Global group of 42 partners across the globe whom all share in the latest research, product innovation and knowledge to engage and motivate teams.

We also have a number of prize draws for people who join us on the day and have their  ‘passports’ stamped, including a major prize draw, in true Doltone signature style!
