Following a tender process, Trippas White Group will continue to helm the food and beverage offering at the Sydney attraction.

The new contract between Trippas White and Taronga will last seven years, starting December 1, 2025.

In addition to more than 4,000 animals across over 350 speicies, Taronga Zoo, on Sydney’s Lower North Shore, offers a plethora of event spaces within its precinct, alongside a couple of accommodation offerings – the camping offering Roar and Snore and the eco-luxury offering Wildlife Retreat at Taronga.

Trippas White Group’s partnership with Taronga Zoo began in 2022 and the renewal of the collaboration will see Trippas White refresh existing F&B offerings and create new culinary experiences.

“Together we have the opportunity to create the best hospitality experience in a zoo or aquarium setting not just in Australia, but in the world,” said Trippas White Group CEO, Kevin Zajax.

“We can use that to amplify Taronga’s mission, to promote messages of conservation and to educate people about the future, not just of wildlife, but people and our planet.”

Event spaces at the zoo include the Gili Rooftop and its outdoor terrace looking out at the Sydney Harbour Bridge and the Sydney Opera House, for up to 80 standing or 60 seated, and the Dalang Ballroom, for up to 300 cocktail or 250 seated. Outdoor options include Taronga’s lawns, which can accommodate up to 2,500 people standing.

Trippas White Group also runs the two culinary options used for the accommodation experiences, Saltwater Bistro, which forms part of the Roar and Snore stay, and Me-Gal, the onsite restaurant at the Wildlife Retreat.

“Trippas White Group put forward an exciting proposal that stood out for its creativity, commitment to sustainability and passion for exceptional guest experiences,” said Taronga Conservation Society Australia’s chief executive, Cameron Kerr AO.

“We look forward to working together to create vibrant spaces that celebrate innovation and connection, keeping Taronga among the most inspiring zoo experiences in the world.

“Just as importantly, this partnership supports Taronga’s vision for a shared future for wildlife and people, ensuring every visit contributes to our core vision.”
