Making the announcement at the conference at InterContinental Sydney on Monday, The Venues Collection’s chief commercial officer, El Kwang said those working in the events industry were a special breed.
“For a long time, we’ve known in our hearts and minds that people in our industry have unique DNA – flair, creativity, hard work, leadership, a lateral thinker and a team player.
“Some say, if we are not born for the industry, we won’t last a day at work. At The Venues Collection, we call that someone’s ‘vibes’.
“The Vibes Awards is a new initiative created with a vision to recognise hardworking business event professionals in Sydney and celebrate their vibes,” said Kwang.
Nominations for the awards will open on Friday, with micenet as the exclusive media partner. Submissions will close by August 27, with an event to celebrate the winners to be held at Watersedge at Campbell’s Stores on September 6.
Watersedge at Campbell’s Stores is managed by The Venues Collection, in addition to their other event spaces around Sydney, including 12-Micron in Barangaroo and Athol Hall in Mosman.
