The Ritz-Carlton Fiji, Namuka Bay will be a new-build, 249-key offering on a 28-hectare beachfront site on Fiji’s Coral Coast, a little more than an hour’s drive from the international airport in Nadi.
The resort will have 1,320m2 of event space, including a 590m2 ballroom, a junior ballroom and three meeting rooms.
Other features of the property include seven culinary offerings, a spa with eight treatment rooms, two swimming pools, a yoga studio and tennis courts.
“It is exciting to reach agreement to debut The Ritz-Carlton in one of the world’s most desirable destinations,” said Marriott International’s vice president of hotel development for Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific, Richard Crawford.
“With Fiji experiencing significant growth in visitor numbers, market profile, and infrastructure, now is the ideal time to introduce Marriott’s luxury portfolio to the island.
“The government’s clear and coordinated commitment to sustainable tourism and quality hotel development is driving strong investor interest and attracting top-tier global brands.
“We expect the local benefits of this investment to be far-reaching, and we are confident that The Ritz-Carlton brand has the global cachet to attract new affluent travel markets to Fiji.”
The accommodation mix at The Ritz-Carlton in Fiji will include 83 villas, each with their own plunge pools and private decks. There will also be a massive 480m2 Presidential Villa with its own 186m2 private pool and its own yoga lounge.
“As the largest resort operator in Fiji, we have historically focused on our elevated premium brands, such as Marriott, Sheraton and Westin,” said Marriott’s development director for Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific, Tristan Cooper.
“However, to cater to even more discerning travelers, we are eager to secure footholds for our luxury portfolio, particularly The Ritz-Carlton. It is therefore exciting to have the chance to deliver on this objective, at a stunning beachfront location on the Coral Coast.
“The Ritz-Carlton Fiji, Namuka Bay will be a truly world-class offering, delivering the legendary service the brand is known for and the very best resort facilities in the country.
“The timing couldn’t be better, with our current resort portfolio in Fiji enjoying record-high occupancy levels.”
Marriott is also in the midst of a major redevelopment of its Westin property in Denarau, which is now expected to reopen in 2026.
