Departures at SkyCity Entertainment Group

SkyCity Entertainment Group has been subject to a few departures recently, with the latest resignation that of its chief operating officer for Australia, David Christian.

SkyCity announced on Monday that Christian will step down at the end of this week.

The group has appointed Avril Baynes as interim COO for Australia, where the company operates SkyCity Adelaide and Eos by SkyCity, which offers significant meeting space. Baynes is currently the general manager of hospitality for SkyCity Adelaide.

Christian’s resignation follows that of Julie Amey, SkyCity Entertainment Group’s CFO, announced last month. Amey will step down in September.

SkyCity’s CEO, Michael Ahearne, also left the business early last month, with his resignation announced last October. Callum Mallett has been standing in as interim CEO of the group since then as the search continues for Ahearne’s permanent replacement.
