The hotel is expected to reopen in early 2026 as Ardour Milton Park Bowral, bringing a new Salter Brothers brand to market for the first time.
“Milton Park has always held a special place in the hearts of so many,” said CEO of Salter Brothers Hospitality, Tash Tobias.
“With the Ardour brand, we’re creating something that’s not just luxurious, but deeply meaningful – a place people will come back to year after year. This is a destination where time slows down, and the extraordinary becomes part of the everyday.
“Ardour Milton Park Bowral is not just a new chapter for this estate – it’s a defining moment for regional hospitality.”
The hotel has 44 rooms and six event spaces, including a 220m2 ballroom. The ballroom and meeting rooms will be fully renovated as part of the current works.
The renovation will including relocating the hotel’s reception to the main house, while guest lounges, terraces, private dining spaces and other public areas will be “luxuriously refreshed”.
Guest rooms will see bespoke wool carpets and marble and walnut finishes added.
A new dining concept, day spa and wellness offering are also part of the renovation.
“With a commitment to redefining Australian luxury, we’re excited to be transforming Milton Park into a destination that blends its rich history with modern elegance to deliver an unforgettable guest experience,” said the hotel’s general manager, David McDonald, who is overseeing the current works.
Salter Brothers have been making significant inroads – and investment – into the full spectrum of Australia’s luxury accommodation scene in recent years.
The company acquired most of the Spicers Retreats portfolio at the end of 2022 and followed it up with the acquisition of the whole of Escarpment Group’s portfolio, which includes luxury properties in the Blue Mountains such as the 89-room Lilianfels Resort & Spa and the adjacent 14-room Echoes Boutique Hotel alongside the 84-room Hydro Majestic Hotel.
This year, the company also committed to more than $1 billion of investment into a variety of its larger hotels, in order to elevate them to more luxurious brands within IHG Hotels & Resorts.
