With a major renovation nearing completion, Sofitel Noosa Pacific Resort in the coastal Queensland destination will be renamed.

In December the 175-key hotel on Noosa’s famous Hastings Street will become Elysium Noosa Resort.

“This transformation is far more than a rebrand – it’s a landmark evolution of one of Noosa’s most treasured hotels, a true legacy for the region,” said the property’s general manager, Mark Wilkinson.

The Sunshine Coast resort will continue to sit within Accor’s luxury portfolio, moving from the Sofitel brand to the MGallery Collection and becoming the sister property of the Manly Pacific in Manly on Sydney’s northern beaches.

The underway renovation will deliver a full-scale transformation of all rooms and suites – micenet visited the property since the renovation began and can confirm a comprehensive redevelopment – including most rooms having completely new bathrooms.

Features of the refurbishment include new wellness suites which have a private sauna and spa as part of the suite.

The ultimate offering at Elysium Noosa Resort will be the Elysium Suite, with ocean views and a private plunge pool.

Across the hotel, all rooms feature balconies or terraces.

“We wanted to create a destination with global appeal – a new style of luxury for the region where Noosa’s essence is reimagined through a European lens,” said Hayley Mitchell, principal of Mitchell & Eades, the interior architecture and design studio from Melbourne that is overseeing the renovation.

“It was important that the guest rooms feel truly of place, with subtle nods to Noosa’s coastal lifestyle; from classic stripes and rattan to premium linens.

“Artworks and playful design details add personality and character to create a uniquely sophisticated coastal experience that speaks to both a young, active audience and those seeking indulgence with ease.”

The resort’s event spaces are also getting a lift as part of the renovation. The largest of its spaces can seat 350 attendees in theatre.

Alongside major interior design changes to guest rooms and event spaces, the F&B offering formerly known as the Noosa Beach House is getting a major design upgrade and celebrity restauranteurs at the helm – the renewed space will open this year as Cibaria Noosa, the first Queensland outpost for Alessandro and Anna Pavoni, the acclaimed culinary force behind the likes of Ormeggio at The Spit in Mosman, Sydney and a’Mare at Crown Sydney.

The resort has remained open throughout the extensive renovation.
