The Society for Incentive Travel Excellence (SITE) will bring its global conference to Australia for the first time in 2028.

While neither the exact dates nor the exact Australian location have yet been announced, the event will take place in February 2028 in Australia.

The international incentive body has more than 3,600 members in over 90 countries with an active chapter in Australia and New Zealand.

The most recent SITE global conference, held in Abu Dhabi in February, had more than 420 attendees.

SITE ANZ’s president, Tanya Wick, said bringing the conference to Australia had been years in the making.

“The opportunity to formally bid for the 2028 conference emerged in mid-2025,” she said.

“However, bringing the SITE global conference to Australia has been something our chapter has been working towards for several years.

“Past board members laid important groundwork, advocating for our region and positioning SITE ANZ as a chapter ready to host a global event of this scale.

“Once the invitation to bid was issued to our chapter, the host destination together with Business Events Australia played a critical role in leading the bid and ultimately securing the win.

“It was a strong collaborative effort, with our industry partners working closely with SITE ANZ to present a compelling case for Australia.”

Wick said it was “a huge moment for our region and for the many people who have contributed over the years to growing the strength and reputation of the incentive travel sector in Australia and New Zealand”.

“Hosting the SITE global conference presents an extraordinary opportunity for Australia to showcase the depth and diversity of our incentive travel offering to the world’s leading incentive planners and agencies,” said Wick.

“Incentive travel is a high-value segment of the business events industry, and bringing the global community here creates a long-term opportunity to strengthen Australia’s position in the corporate incentive market.

“It allows us to demonstrate the unique experiences, scale and creativity that make Australia such a powerful destination for incentive travel.”

It is not clear when the Australian host destination will be announced – the destination for the 2027 conference – Vancouver, Canada – was confirmed at the end of this year’s event in Abu Dhabi.
