The waterside venue held an event last Wednesday to celebrate its renewed spaces, which are available to event planners for corporate events.
The renovation took in what’s known as the Top Deck and the Mid Deck as well as the Sunset Room and Bar.
The indoor Top Deck can seat 102 or accommodate 150 standing and now features fully opening wraparound bifold windows.
“The Top Deck has always been a special part of our venue – it’s where locals and visitors have gathered for years to enjoy those incredible harbour views,” said Watsons Bay Hotel co-owner, Danielle Richardson.
“With this renovation, we’ve enhanced what was already great about the space while solving practical challenges that allows us to better serve our community and guests who have made this venue a Sydney institution.”
The outdoor Mid Deck which surrounds the Top Deck can seat 60, while the Sunset Room can seat 120 or cater to 200 standing.
“We’ve focused on creating spaces where people feel they can stay for hours,” said Emilie Delalande, director of Etic Design, of the Mid Deck revamp. Etic Design contributed its design expertise to the renovation.
The three spaces sit above Watsons Bay Hotel’s expansive street level footprint, much of which is outdoors.
“We wanted a palette and furniture selection that felt naturally connected to the harbour but elevated beyond predictable nautical themes,” said Delalande of the new aesthetics of the three renovated spaces.
“It’s relaxed sophistication, coastal in spirit but timeless in execution.”
Watsons Bay Hotel also does full buyouts of its entire venue for up to 2,000 people.
In addition, the hotel offers 32 guest rooms for overnight stays.
