The 14-room lodge underwent works to its North Beachfront accommodation, which makes up more than half of its inventory.
As part of the renovations, indoor and outdoor living spaces have been enlarged, with ceilings rising.
Outside spaces have been elevated with new timber decking, new lounges and new pergolas.
Inside, new bespoke furniture has been added. New bathrooms are also a feature of the North Beachfront suites.
“Orpheus Island Lodge has always been one of Australia’s most extraordinary destinations, and this transformation ensures it will continue to set the benchmark for luxury island hospitality for years to come,” said Ross Penegar, CEO of Morris Escapes, which owns and operates Orpheus Island Lodge and the neighbouring Pelorus Private Island.
“Every element of the refurbishment has been undertaken with immense care to honour the island’s unique character while enhancing the guest experience in meaningful ways.”
Located within the Palm Island Archipelago north of Townsville, both Orpheus Island Lodge and Pelorus Private Island became members of the exclusive Luxury Lodges of Australia collective last year.
“Continuous innovation and investment in infrastructure, experience development and service delivery is a signature of the Luxury Lodges of Australia,” said Penny Rafferty, executive chair of the collective of just 19 properties around Australia.
“It is so exciting to see this significant refresh and rebuild at Orpheus Island that ensures the lodge steps into a new era, relevant, highly appealing and top of their game.”
Orpheus Island Lodge accepts buyouts of its property for business event groups.
