Novotel and ibis Styles hotel complex opens at Melbourne Airport
Australia’s largest hotel opening this year took place on Monday in Melbourne.

The 464-room combined hotel product is the first internationally branded hotel to open at the airport in more than two decades.

The hotel offers the airport’s first co-working space and its first health and wellbeing club, called Higher State, which includes a yoga studio and spa treatments, plus an infrared sauna and pool – the PARKROYAL Melbourne Airport also offers a pool as well as a sauna and steam room.

The new complex also features a sizeable event space at 373m2 which can host 330 delegates in theatre.

“Our vision at Accor is clear: to redefine the concept of airport hotels and transform them into vibrant hubs that serve not just travellers, but entire communities,” said Accor Pacific’s chief operating officer Adrian Williams.

“And as you can see, the Melbourne Airport precinct is rapidly evolving into a dynamic mini-city, and these new hotels are at the forefront of this transformation.

“Offering 464 beautiful guest rooms split between Novotel and ibis Styles, both hotels also feature a full range of facilities to cater to business, conference and leisure guests, as well as workers and visitors to the airport district.

“In addition to three food and beverage outlets, function facilities for up to 330 guests, and Aerofoil Workspace, our hotel-serviced co-working space, we’re providing more than just a place to sleep,” he said.

As well as servicing those transiting through Melbourne Airport, the facilities which form part of the new hotel complex are being positioned for potential use by the airport’s 20,000-person workforce.

Owned by Melbourne Airport and located just beyond Terminal 4, the hotel is made up of 248 rooms under the midscale Novotel brand and 216 rooms for the economy ibis Styles brand.

Hotels at Melbourne Airport are currently having something of a renaissance, with the PARKROYAL Melbourne Airport having also just completed multi-million-dollar full-scale refurbishment of its property, including its 1,000m2 of event space on a dedicated floor.
