Orpheus Island Lodge and the neighbouring Pelorus Private Island on the Great Barrier Reef, just off the Queensland coast between Townsville and Cairns, are now members of Luxury Lodges of Australia.
Orpheus Island offers 14 rooms, suites and villas, while Pelorus Private Island is for exclusive use only, with just four suites for guests and a fifth for accompanying staff. The recently-opened Pelorus also comes with a private chef.
“We’re proud to see Orpheus Island Lodge and Pelorus Private Island joining the ranks of Luxury Lodges of Australia alongside our other property, Mt Mulligan Lodge,” said Morris Escapes owner Chris Morris.
“As a group, we share a commitment to delivering some of the most exceptional and immersive luxury experiences in the country.
“Orpheus and Pelorus are truly special places, offering an experience and hospitality that is as unique as the Great Barrier Reef itself.”
The Morris Escapes lodges join some of Australia’s most iconic luxury stays that are already part of Luxury Lodges of Australia.
Others in the collective include Longitude 131 at Uluru, the rebuilt Southern Ocean Lodge on Kangaroo Island, Sal Salis on the edge of Ningaloo Reef in Western Australia, Saffire Freycinet in Tasmania and qualia on Hamilton Island.
“Orpheus Island Lodge and Pelorus Private Island provide the kind of uniquely Australian experience that aligns perfectly with the Luxury Lodges of Australia DNA,” said Luxury Lodges of Australia executive chair Penny Rafferty.
In early 2024, Morris Escapes emerged as the new identity of the Northern Escape Collection.
