The awards are determined from a survey funded by Skytrax between August 2025 and February 2026. Respondents came from more than 100 countries and more than 575 airports are named in the results.
Melbourne Airport was ranked 21st in the world, with Australia’s next highest entry being Brisbane Airport at 40, followed by Sydney Airport at 52, Perth Airport at 58, Adelaide Airport at 72 and Gold Coast Airport at 81. No other Australian airports were ranked inside the top 100.

Airports in Asia took out all of the top five spots, with Seoul Incheon in second, Tokyo Haneda coming third, Hong Kong Airport fourth and Tokyo Narita rounding out the top five. Melbourne Airport ranked higher than any US airport and London Heathrow.
On the airport hotels front, Accor properties took out five of the top six places in the rankings for Australia and the Pacific. Pullman Brisbane Airport came in first, followed by PARKROYAL Melbourne Airport, Pullman Auckland Airport, Novotel Sydney Airport, Novotel Christchurch Airport and Pullman Sydney Airport.

“Airport precincts are evolving rapidly into vibrant, multi-dimensional destinations and Accor is proud to play a leading role alongside our partners in that transformation,” said Accor Pacific’s COO, Adrian Williams.
“Today’s travellers expect far more than proximity to the terminal – they’re looking for quality, experience and a sense of place, whether travelling for business, leisure or a blend of both.
“Airport hotels are no longer just about convenience; they play a critical role in shaping the overall travel journey.
“Working hand-in-hand with our airport and hotel partners, we are delivering hotels designed for modern travellers.
“These awards are a strong endorsement of that partnership and our shared ambition to redefine airport hospitality.”
In the Pacific, Accor has grown its airport hotel portfolio by 21 per cent in the last two years.
Globally, Crowne Plaza Changi Airport was named as the world’s best airport hotel. No hotels from Australia or New Zealand placed in the worldwide top 10.
