Professional conference organisers MCI took home four awards at the awards ceremony on Thursday night, while Adelaide Convention Centre received three.

MCI’s success was largely due to its work on the 76th International Astronautical Congress (IAC) in Sydney this year, which was the largest international conference held in Sydney since the pandemic and provided an estimated economic windfall for Sydney to the tune of $47 million.

IAC Sydney netted MCI three awards on Thursday, for most outstanding marketing campaign and two for social and cultural sustainability. MCI’s Meg Watt also won event manager of the year.

Adelaide Convention Centre also had a big night, claiming both venue team of the year and convention centre of the year, in addition to overall best team.

Another five organisations scored two wins each.

Forum Group Events & Marketing beat Australia’s largest ever inbound incentive program, Amway China’s 16,000-pax extravaganza, to take home best incentive event for Mega Lekker Escape and also won organiser team of the year.

Exhibition organiser RX won two awards in the innovation and creativity categories: best stand or show feature for Enphase Energy at All Energy Australia and best new product or service for Reed Gift Fairs Exhibitor Nurturing Program.

Business Events Perth won best bureau team while the organisation’s senior business development manager, Georgia Bivens, won the Future Leaders Award.

Production company AV1 took home supplier team of the year with their head of production Brooke Perry won Operations Person of the Year.

And a business events industry event, the Asia Pacific Incentives and Meetings Event (AIME), won best trade show and best overall event.
