Marriott and Accor named amongst Australia’s best companies to work for
The two major hotel chains have been selected for HRD Australia’s annual list of the best companies to work for.

To be considered for the list, companies must submit an entry and have their employees surveyed. Each company must meet a minimum number of responses from the employee survey – relative to the size of the business – to be considered for the list.

Just 11 companies made the cut in the 500 or more employees category.

“It’s a great honour to receive this recognition for our achievements in creating an extraordinary workplace,” said Accor Pacific’s COO for premier, midscale and economy brands, Adrian Williams.

“It reinforces that we have a committed and caring team, who are passionate about supporting and developing people, and creating career pathways.

“It’s an exciting time to work in hospitality as the travel industry continues to evolve and expand. What I love most about our industry is that it gives you the chance to learn and grow, which opens doors to the world.

“We want our team members to fall in love with the industry and we have many initiatives in our business that create incredible opportunities for exciting careers in hospitality,” he said.

“Our teams bring diversity, experiences and stories to our culture, which makes Accor a community for all to excel. Our people are integral to our success and growth and I could not be prouder of them.”

This is Accor’s second straight year on the list and Marriott Australia’s first year.

“Marriott International are very proud to be a winner in the HRD Australia’s best place to work list,” said Natasha Rasheed, Marriott International’s senior area director of human resources for the Australia, New Zealand and Pacific region.

“Our company was scored on our initiatives across a range of areas, including leadership, learning and development, diversity and inclusion, work-life balance and more.

“The award is a testament to our people-first culture, and it is a great achievement which motivates us to continue to put our associates first and strive to be a leading employer in Australia.”
