The refurbishment includes interiors, furniture and fittings, alongside an update to lighting control systems.

The Woolshed comprises a ballroom for up to 500 attendees and seven other meeting rooms alongside terraces and pre-function space.
“Queensland continues to strengthen its position as one of Australia’s most compelling destinations for meetings and events,” said InterContinental Sanctuary Cove Resort’s general manager, Matt Rippin.
“The refreshed Woolshed, complemented by ongoing enhancements across our lagoon precinct and outdoor spaces allow us to offer exceptional flexibility whether it’s a conference, an executive retreat or a bespoke corporate gala celebration.
“This investment ensures we remain a destination where luxury, local connection and operational capability work seamlessly together.”
The Woolshed is currently closed with the renewed space expected to launch in early 2026.
Other event spaces at the 251-key resort remain operational, including several outdoor spaces and three in-door options, with capacity for groups of up to 200 people.
The Sanctuary Cove property at the northern end of the Gold Coast was the first InterContinental resort in Australia, debuting under the IHG brand in 2012. It originally opened as a Hyatt property in 1988.
