Lilianfels Blue Mountains Resort & Spa to be rebranded
The luxury property in the World Heritage-listed Blue Mountains will join Salter Brothers Hospitality’s new hotel brand.

Salter Brothers acquired the 89-room property, along with the rest of the Escarpment Group’s accommodation portfolio – which also included the Hydro Majestic – in early 2023.

Now Salter Brothers Hospitality has announced plans for a multi-million-dollar refurbishment of guest rooms, reception and lounge areas, event spaces, the resort’s wellness offering and its dining spaces.

A new private dining room will also be added during the renovations as an extension of the bar.

Following the refurbishment, the property will become Ardour Lilianfels Blue Mountains, joining Ardour Milton Park Bowral, which was announced as the inaugural property under the Ardour Hotels & Estates brand last month. The Bowral hotel is currently closed and undergoing considerable renovation before it brings the Ardour brand to life for the first time in early 2026.

“The addition of Lilianfels to the Ardour Hotels & Estates collection is a powerful expression of our vision,” said Salter Brothers Hospitality CEO, Tash Tobias.

“It’s about crafting exceptional hotels and estates and a new guest experience in regional destinations that is a deeply meaningful and modern expression, honouring heritage and connection to place.”

Lilianfels will remain open during the renovation, with the works managed to minimise disruption to guests.

“Lilianfels has a unique place in the heart of the Blue Mountains community and Australia’s hospitality heritage,” said Sandra Kloprogge, the regional general manager for Salter Brothers Hospitality in the Blue Mountains, who will be supervising the renovation.

“The integration of this respected resort into the Ardour Hotels & Estates collection marks a pivotal moment – a thoughtful renewal that respects its history while setting a new standard for luxury, wellness and immersive guest experiences in the region.”
