A longtime staffer has been promoted to director of event delivery at Sydney’s convention centre.

Marc Singerling, who has been with ICC Sydney since its pre-opening period, is the venue’s new director of event delivery, with the role encompassing oversight of the culinary and event services teams.

Prior to ICC Sydney, Singerling was venue operations manager for Sydney Exhibition Centre on Glebe Island, while ICC Sydney was under construction. He also worked as food and beverage manager at the former Sydney Convention and Exhibition Centre for 13 years, starting with ICC Sydney’s precursor in 2000.

During his almost 10 years with ICC Sydney, Singerling has spent the majority of his time as food and beverages services manager, as well as leading the venue’s internal operational management group, which boosted communication and operational efficiencies across the various departments which make up ICC Sydney’s offering. According to the venue, he also has a reputation for nurturing young talent in the culinary team.

“Marc’s integral leadership and expansive operational knowledge defines his approach to delivering service excellence for a diverse range of large-scale conferences, exhibitions, banquets, meetings and live entertainment events,” said ICC Sydney’s CEO, Adam Mather-Brown.

“We are delighted to have Marc join our executive team to nurture our high-performance professionals that deliver the events of today and into the future.”

Singerling will report to ICC Sydney’s general manager of operations, Lynell Peck, who was formerly the venue’s director of culinary services.

“Marc is an exceptional executive who has dedicated a significant part of his career in a senior management role here at ICC Sydney as well as at major local venues and abroad,” said Peck.

“His contribution to our clients’ success over almost a decade puts him in good stead to lead his team to execute complex and engaging events at ICC Sydney.”

Singerling started his new role in mid-April.
