Hosted buyer applications open for MEETINGS
Event organisers can now apply to be hosted at New Zealand’s flagship business events trade event in June.

MEETINGS, organised by industry association Business Events Industry Aotearoa (BEIA), is being held in Rotorua in 2024, for the first time in 13 years.

Hosted buyers receive complimentary travel to Rotorua as well as complimentary accommodation and tickets to all of the MEETINGS social events. Buyers are also required to undertake appointments with exhibitors on the MEETINGS show floor. Around 200 sellers from New Zealand’s business events industry are expected to have a presence on the floor in 2024.

This year MEETINGS has partnered with Hobbiton Movie Set Tours to offer buyers a pre or post MEETINGS experience of the complex made famous in the Lord of the Rings films. Buyers will also have the opportunity to explore Rotorua’s business events offering, with a full-day familiarisation tour set for June 18, the day before the exhibition opens.

“Much more than a trade show, MEETINGS is New Zealand’s must-attend event for conference, incentive and meeting organisers,” said BEIA chief executive, Lisa Hopkins.  

“We’re so excited to be in Rotorua – the birthplace of New Zealand tourism, and our cultural heartland. It’s the perfect time for all of us to come together in such a unique place and to celebrate Matariki – the Māori New Year.”

Organisers wishing to be hosted can apply via the MEETINGS website. Day buyer registrations will open next month.

MEETINGS will be held on June 19 and 20, 2024, at the Energy Events Centre in Rotorua. The welcome event on June 18 will be held at the Sir Howard Morrison Centre.
