Altogether, organisers of AIME are expecting 4,000 buyers and up to 400 exhibitors to participate in the event.
AIME’s event director Silke Calder told micenet at this year’s show that they had already secured an extra exhibition bay for 2024. Talk2 Media and Events, which organises AIME on behalf of its owner, Melbourne Convention Bureau (MCB), has confirmed the show will now take two extra bays in 2024, in response to exhibitor interest.
Destinations in Japan, Singapore and Macau have already confirmed their presence at AIME 2024, alongside exhibitors from Australia and New Zealand.
Talk2 Media and Events is incentivising potential hosted buyers from Australia and New Zealand to apply earlier, by offering up a trip to Canada to successful hosted buyers who apply before October 31.
At AIME 2023, Calder said the pandemic revealed the importance of Australian buyers.
However, buyers from China are also expected to return at the 2024 show, boosting hosted numbers. For the 2023 event, there were 400 hosted buyers and 350 exhibitors.
Senior event managers can apply to be fully hosted via AIME’s website. There are also options to be semi hosted or a hosted day buyer. Fully hosted buyers have larger commitments in terms of the number of exhibitor meetings they are expected to complete during the two days the show floor is open.
AIME is also currently accepting expressions of interest for event professionals wishing to join the committee overseeing the AIME Knowledge Program, which takes place the day before the show begins, as well as expressions of interest from potential speakers on the program. More information can be found on the Knowledge Program page of AIME’s website.
This story was updated on Friday September 8, to reflect that AIME has now confirmed not one, but two extra bays for the 2024 show.
