Experience design software officially launches to service cultural institutions and events
Art Processors has launched Pladia, which allows organisations to bring their spaces to life with digital integrations without having to design a solution from the ground up.

What is now Pladia began as the world’s first location-aware digital museum guide called The O, developed for the Tasmanian icon Mona.

The insights which have been gained over the 13 years since The O came into being are being spun out as a separate product business sitting within Art Processors.

For events, Pladia can provide audio direct to attendees’ own headphones for drone shows, light shows or outdoor cinema experiences.

For cultural institutions, Pladia provides a solution that encompasses navigation and storytelling via a digital app, allowing visitors to access digital content to guide and contextualise their experience. Data on visitors and engagement is also part of the solution.

“We know that the moment that causes museum and institution visitors the most anxiety and least satisfaction is the entry experience,” said Pladia’s CEO Andi Mastrosavas.

“The moment after a visitor has paid admission and stepped inside an institution can be filled with fear of missing something important, not knowing where to find what they want to see, and not having access to key information. And offering a technology solution for these problems has long been a costly exercise for institutions with tight budgets.

“Pladia is here to bridge the gap for organisations with limited budgets. It’s configurable, easy-to-use and reliable and, most importantly, will help visitors find their way simply, from their own device,” said Mastrosavas.

micenet foresees that the use cases for events could grow and possibly expand to business events.

Since its formation to create The O, Art Processors has worked with the likes of the Sydney Opera House, the Art Gallery of NSW, Bendigo Art Gallery and Tasmania’s The Taste of Summer festival.
