City’s largest rooftop bar opens in Sydney at Kimpton Margot Sydney
The largest rooftop bar in Sydney’s CBD has opened on the seventh floor of one of the city’s newest luxury hotels.

Harper Rooftop Bar debuts today at Kimpton Margot Sydney, which opened its doors in early 2022, after being transformed from the Primus Hotel.

The space is the largest open-air rooftop bar in the city centre and it’s taking bookings for events.

With capacity for 180 people, the space is being touted as an option for long table dinners, meeting breaks, exclusive experiences and buyouts.

The 172-room Kimpton Margot Sydney has three dedicated indoor event spaces in the mezzanine above its lobby, including two board rooms and a flexible 344m2 plenary space that can also be divided into smaller rooms.

Catering for Harper Rooftop Bar is by celebrity chef Luke Mangan, who operates the other food and beverage spaces at the hotel, including Luke’s Kitchen and Cellar by Luke.

“Finally the cat’s out of the bag – Harper Rooftop Bar is now open and we can’t wait to see Sydneysiders enjoying this amazing open-air rooftop bar with a rosé in hand,” said Mangan.

“We’ve created a delicious function menu using fresh, local produce and plenty of amazing seafood – the perfect combo to celebrate the warm summer days.”

Kimpton Margot Sydney’s director of sales, Mitchell Hacene, said the new venue offered event organisers a blank canvas.

“Harper is a unique destination that offers a blank canvas which can be carefully curated to host beautiful events and brand activations complemented with amazing local food and a vibrant energy,” said Hacene.

“We live and breathe hospitality and know that every event at Harper Rooftop Bar will be executed in ease and elegance but most importantly, will deliver a truly unforgettable experience.”
