Canberra will host the two-day gathering next June, which brings together airlines, policymakers and other aviation sector stakeholders.
The 2026 event featured speakers from major airlines including Qantas, Jetstar, Virgin Australia, Air New Zealand, Fiji Airways and Cathay Pacific, alongside key visitor economy organisations and businesses including Tourism Australia, Flight Centre Travel Group, Intrepid Travel and the Tourism and Transport Forum.
The venue and precise dates for the Canberra summit have yet to be announced.
“This is an exceptional opportunity to bring together the region’s aviation leaders in the heart of Australia’s capital,” said CAPA’s senior director of events, Claudia Kunz.
“As a hub of innovation, policy and beauty, Canberra provides the perfect setting for meaningful discussions that will shape the future of aviation in the Australia Pacific region.”
With the summit to be hosted by Canberra Airport, Canberra Convention Bureau also played a role in securing the event for the destination.
“We are delighted that Canberra has been selected to host CAPA 2027, bringing some of the aviation industry’s most influential leaders and decision-makers to the nation’s capital,” said Canberra Airport CEO, Stephen Byron.
“Hosting CAPA 2027 is a significant opportunity for Canberra Airport to bring the global aviation industry to the nation’s capital.
“It will allow us to showcase the strength of the Canberra market, deepen relationships with airline partners and support future opportunities to grow capacity, connectivity and aviation services for our region.”
Canberra’s air connectivity is growing both domestically and internationally. Virgin Australia has recently launched flights between Canberra and Bali, while Qatar Airways will resume flying from Canberra to Qatar later this year.
Further ahead, the CAPA Airline Leader Summit Australia Pacific has already locked in a return to Adelaide in 2028.
