The Brisbane Truck Show saw a jump of 12,000 attendees in 2025, compared to the 2023 show, with 54,790 people through the doors in mid-May.
The show, which has been held at Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre (BCEC) since 2011, is the venue’s largest event.
Trucks, trailers, big rigs and related technology and equipment were on display across 35,000m2 and three levels at BCEC, with 17 other related events also held at the venue.
Organised by Heavy Vehicle Industry Australia (HVIA), the show is the largest automobile event in the southern hemisphere, with the HVIA CEO, Todd Hacking, believing it is also Australia’s most logistically complex event.
“The HVIA team relies on the BCEC operations team, integrating seamlessly to ensure a smooth event,” said Hacking.
“2025 was no exception with the staff of the BCEC going above and beyond to ensure a world class event.”
With the significantly higher attendance numbers in 2025, the show is expected to easily beat the $43.6 million economic impact the 2023 show generated for Brisbane, which included 92,982 hotel room nights.
More broadly in May, events in Brisbane are expected to drive a $100 million benefit for the city.
Alongside the Brisbane Truck Show – which could drive around half of that total benefit – the NRL Magic Round, State of Origin games for both men and women, the Brisbane Marathon Festival, the Affordable Art Fair and the Brisbane Comedy Festival are all being held in May.
The city also hosted Australia’s largest tourism trade event, the Australian Tourism Exchange, at the end of April, which saw the likes of nearly 3,000 people gather at the Queen’s Wharf precinct in central Brisbane for the welcome event, between days one and two of four days of business meetings between buyers and sellers.
