Brisbane hospitality group to transform Fish Lane pub
The Ghanem Group will turn Fox Hotel in Brisbane’s Fish Lane into a multi-level dining, events and entertainment hub.

Cheap pizzas and burgers in the heritage-listed Art Deco building will be replaced by a public bar, two dedicated event spaces, a late-night cocktail lounge and a rooftop terrace looking out over Brisbane’s CBD. The venue will also have a gaming lounge on the ground floor.

Ghanem Group’s new venture is located in the Fish Lane arts precinct, nearby Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre, just across the river from Brisbane’s city centre.

“This is our largest and one of our most exciting projects to date,” said Ghanem Group director, Adonis Ghanem.

“The growing community of this area has long awaited the return of this legendary venue, and to have the opportunity to bring the next era of dining and entertainment to this iconic site is a true honour.

“This is a project that we are very much excited about.”

The hospitality group expects to open the new, multi-faceted experience late this year. The dining offerings are expected to cover multiple cuisines.

Ghanem Group is already well established in Brisbane, operating the likes of the riverfront modern Australian restaurant Blackbird and the Chinese inspired Donna Chang in the city centre. The group also operates the French Bisou Bisou and the Iris Rooftop at IHG’s Hotel X in Fortitude Valley.

Ghanem Group was formed in 2006 by brothers Adonis and Nehme Ghanem, however the family’s hospitality history stretches back to the 1970s when their parents ran Lebanese restaurants across Brisbane.
