Big-name operators to helm Winter Sports World
Hammons Holdings and Trippas White Group will deliver major parts of the Winter Sports World experience.

Announced today at the NSW Major Projects Conference at ICC Sydney, Hammons Holdings will operate the snow attractions while Trippas White Group will be responsible for the food and beverage offerings at Australia’s first indoor snow resort in Western Sydney.

Alongside indoor snow, the $500 million Winter Sports World will include a 170-room hotel and event space.

A family business, Hammons Holdings already operates BridgeClimb Sydney on the Sydney Harbour Bridge and Scenic World in the Blue Mountains.

Meanwhile Trippas White manages the culinary experience in a multitude of venues across Sydney and Canberra, including the Yallamundi Rooms at the Sydney Opera House, three venues at Sydney Tower, Reign at QVB and the Roslyn Packer Theatre in Walsh Bay, alongside the Australian War Memorial and the National Gallery of Australia in Australia’s capital.

“After a global search, we have discovered the best tourism attractions and food and beverage operators in the world right here in NSW, and I am confident that Hammons Holdings and Trippas White Group will help drive the success we expect this project to achieve,” said Winter Sports World’s managing director, Peter Magnisalis.

Construction on the project is expected to begin next year, with the resort scheduled to open in Penrith in 2028. It’s currently the largest private tourism construction project in the country.

“We’re thrilled to have been selected as preferred operator to run and manage the snow attractions at Winter Sports World and look forward to doing what we do best – delivering world-class fun and exceptional experiences,” said Hammons Holdings CEO David Hammon.

Likewise, Trippas White Group is also happy to be onboard.

“We are absolutely thrilled to partner with WSW and bring this expertise to Western Sydney – not only creating hundreds of jobs for the hospitality sector, driving tourism to the region as well as being able to celebrate some great local products and offers,” said Trippas White Group CEO Kevin Zajax.
