A familiar face joins FCM Meetings & Events
Kellie Howard has joined Flight Centre Travel Group’s meetings arm as head of sales for Australia.
Howard has moved over from Adelaide Oval, where she was director of sales, moving back to Sydney for her new role.
Previously Howard has held business development positions at both Adelaide Convention Centre and ICC Sydney and spent a decade with ID Events Australia.

Be Challenged promotes from within
Be Challenged has appointed Lisa Kelliher as its new CEO.
Kelliher joined Be Challenged in 2022 as head of people and culture, bringing over two decades of teaching and leadership experience to the team building business.
Prior to joining Be Challenged, she was deputy principal at International Grammer School. She has also held teaching positions at Roseville College and Knox Grammar School, in addition to working for the NSW Education Standards Authority.
“I am honoured and excited to have the opportunity to lead Be Challenged into this next exciting phase of development and growth, where we fulfill our intention to be recognised as agile and forward thinking leaders in team development,” Kelliher said.
Long-time Marriott staffer to lead Sheraton Grand Sydney Hyde Park
Australian hospitality leader David Lance has been appointed general manager of the Sheraton Grand Sydney Hyde Park.
Lance has been with Marriott for over two decades and in GM roles in Thailand and the Middle East for nearly 14 years.
His most recent role was as general manager of the 726-room Royal Orchid Sheraton Bangkok Riverside in Thailand.
Prior to joining Marriott, Lance got his start in hotels at the Four Seasons in Sydney in 1995.
One of Sydney’s larger hotels, with 558 rooms, the Sheraton Grand Sydney Hyde Park also has 18 event spaces, totally more than 3,700m2.
