Regional hotel performance director appointed for Sofitel, MGallery and Emblems
Paula Tannous has been appointed regional director of hotel performance for three of Accor’s luxury brands across Australia, New Zealand and Fiji – Sofitel, MGallery and its Emblems Collection.
Tannous has spent much of her career as a hotelier working internationally, particularly in the United Arab Emirates, where she worked for the likes of Accor, Habtoor Hospitality and Caesars Entertainment.
Before taking on her new role, she was hotel manager at the Pullman and Mercure Brisbane King George Square precinct.
“This is a full circle moment for me as I worked with Sofitel 20 years ago and I have watched how the brand has been elevated, while at the same time seeing the expansion of the MGallery brand, and the announcement of the first iconic Emblems hotels,” said Tannous.
“I am thrilled to spearhead the hotel performance of this exclusive collection of luxury brands in the Pacific and look forward to helping to further enhance the guest experience of the network as its expands.”
Tannous’ role will have her overseeing performance of more than 20 luxury properties in the local region.
“Paula’s exceptional track record in executing powerful, data-driven performance strategies and her ability to foster collaborative leadership make her a perfect fit for our Pacific growth ambitions,” said Accor’s vice president of operations for Sofitel, MGallery and Emblems in the Pacific, David Fraser.
“Her arrival strengthens our regional team as we continue expanding our luxury presence and delivering meaningful guest experiences across Australia, New Zealand, Fiji and beyond.”
New associate director of sales for Pullman Brisbane King George Square
Meanwhile at Tannous’ former property, Lynsey Burke has joined the team as associate director of sales.
Burke moves over from Golf Central BNE, where she managed events for the attraction. She comes to the Pullman with twenty years of experience in hospitality, including in her native Scotland and New Zealand.
At the Pullman Brisbane King George Square, Burke is tasked with growing the hotel’s business events market share and developing the team that delivers its events.
“I’m excited to step into this role at such an exciting time for Brisbane’s events and hospitality scene,” said Burke.
“Pullman Brisbane King George Square has incredible potential, and I’m looking forward to working with our talented team to strengthen relationships with our clients, attract new business and deliver exceptional event experiences. For me, this position is more than sales targets, it’s about building a reputation as the go-to destination for conferences and events in Brisbane, especially as the city prepares for the 2032 Olympics.”
