Adelaide Venue Management launches impact program
The management company operating the Adelaide Convention Centre has launched its Community Impact Program to boost event legacies.

The program harnesses new and existing partnerships with eight South Australian organisations which align with the pillars of the initiative – community, environment, First Nations and goods donations.

Program partners include Operation Flinders as the principle partner, Trees for Life, Reconciliation South Australia and Vinnies, with Adelaide Venue Management (AVM) to continue supporting four food redistribution organisations through the program: OzHarvest, Faithworks, Foodbank and Hutt St Centre.

Operation Flinders provides outdoor adventure therapy programs to young people to help transform their lives. Through Operation Flinders, conference and event clients can access keynote speakers as well as making donations to support Operation Flinders’ programs.

Through Trees for Life, organisers can offset event travel or help support biodiversity by planting trees for attendees through their Trees for Habitat program.

Organisers can also support South Australia’s First Nations’ people through Reconciliation South Australia, who can connect organisers to Indigenous performers, businesses and speakers.

“The events industry — and business events in particular — has an extraordinary power to drive positive change, not only for the sector or speciality related to the event, but also for the communities of the host destination,” said AVM’s CEO, Martin Radcliffe.

“AVM’s new Community Impact Program will be effective in facilitating opportunities and promoting collaboration between AVM, our clients (event organisers) and local South Australian community groups, creating immediate benefits and lasting legacies.

“AVM is driven to maximise positive impact in our community, both through our own team’s work, as well as the initiatives of our clients.”

The program is built on AVM’s ESG strategy, released in 2024, called The Green Print.

For the Community Impact Program, AVM worked with each of the program partners to develop specific and measurable opportunities for the events industry.
