The strategic partnership will focus on education and professional development, leadership development, sustainability, advocacy and engagement and membership growth.
“ABEA members now have access to world-leading sustainability programs and education, including IFES’s Better Stands initiative,” said ABEA CEO, Melissa Brown.
“This partnership gives our industry a direct link to tested, globally recognised resources that strengthen professional capability and drive measurable impact.”
The IFES has just a handful of Australian members, while the Australian based association will benefit from the global expertise and reach of the international exhibition body.
“By working with ABEA, we can share knowledge, empower local businesses and embed sustainability principles that are already improving outcomes worldwide,” said IFES president, Jörg Zeissig.
“Together, we’re building stronger bridges between Australia and the global exhibition and event services community.”
This is the latest in a significant line-up of international partnerships ABEA has secured since the association became operational in mid-2023.
To date, ABEA has signed partnerships with global associations and bodies including the International Association of Professional Conference Organisers (IAPCO), the International Association of Convention Centres (AIPC) and the International Congress and Convention Association (ICCA).
