The pair of associations will work together on research, education and professional development, young leaders and mentoring, advocacy, membership growth, communication and increasing the visibility of incentive impact.
“This agreement will help to develop specialist capabilities and give emerging talent clear pathways into our profession,” said SITE ANZ president, Tanya Wick.
“It’s a practical step that connects ANZ market needs with essential knowledge and data.”
Tangible aims of the MoU include increasing participation of local incentive organisers in the annual global Incentive Travel Index, a major research piece for the incentive travel sector, providing greater access to incentive travel education programs from SITE, providing a joint single voice of advocacy on Tourism Australia’s incentive roundtable and sharing communications on both associations’ events and initiatives to grow membership for each organisation as well as shared communications showcasing the contribution of incentive travel within Australia’s business events mix.
“Through this collaboration ABEA will deliver tangible value for members while attracting and supporting the next generation of talent within our sector,” said ABEA CEO, Melissa Brown.
“It’s about creating impact where it matters most: capability, visibility and outcomes for industry.”
This is the first collaboration between ABEA and another business events industry association with a strong local presence. ABEA has already formed a variety of partnerships with aligned international associations and Australian bodies within the wider business landscape.
