The renovation of the venue has seen its capacity increased to included a new meeting room, alongside a new reception area and a new kitchen.
The existing heart of the venue, the Great Hall, which can host 520 attendees for a banquet, has undergone refurbishment works as well.
There are several other spaces in the venue to host business events groups.
“Launceston continues to gain global recognition as an exceptional destination on all fronts,” said Business Events Tasmania’s CEO, Marnie Craig.
“The City of Launceston has shown its commitment to business events by reimagining this historically significant venue and equipping it with the latest modern facilities.
“Coupled with the recent national recognition of Peppers Silo Launceston as Australia’s best business events venue, it’s clear that the city is primed to welcome a variety of business events.”
Craig said the bureau was “seeing a growing interest in Launceston as a business event destination”.
“Our team is here to help organisers unlock the full potential of their events, offering funding opportunities and tailored support to ensure a seamless experience in Launceston.”
More broadly, Launceston is seeing developments that will increase its attractiveness as a business events host.
Several five-star hotels are in development in the city and there are talks of a convention centre being built.
In addition, in December, Visit Northern Tasmania started work on a government-funded demand and feasibility study to understand what needs to be done to put Launceston on the map for business events.
