Regional meeting venue Saltwater Busselton sets opening date
The major new piece of business events infrastructure for Busselton in Western Australia’s southwest will open on May 9.
The venue is geared towards both cultural and business events, offering a conference suite with an outdoor balcony for up to 400 seated theatre style, alongside a 640-seat auditorium that can be transformed into a 500m2 flat floor exhibition space. The conference suite can be split into three separate spaces for between 110 and 150 while a gallery and courtyard can be used for standing events with 150 delegates.
Saltwater Busselton will open in two stages, with the conference suite and gallery to debut in May and the auditorium to open at a later date that has yet to be announced.
Busselton is the gateway to Western Australia’s Margaret River wine region, which could be a draw for corporate meetings to consider Saltwater Busselton and provide a boost to delegate numbers for those wishing to visit the region before or after a conference.
“Saltwater Busselton represents many years of planning, design and construction,” said Busselton’s mayor, Phill Cronin.
“Saltwater Busselton is a project our community has watched grow from concept to construction, and I am incredibly proud to see it nearing completion.
“This venue will not only showcase local creativity and talent but also attract new cultural and economic opportunities for our city.”
